At Adelaide Tinnitus Clinic, we value a collaborative approach to patient care. We work alongside general practitioners, ENTs, audiologists, and other specialists to provide a comprehensive evaluation and management pathway for individuals experiencing tinnitus and related auditory challenges.
Referral Process
A referral is required for patients to access our services. This ensures we can provide an accurate diagnostic assessment and maintain open communication with the referring practitioner. After the assessment, we will send a detailed report, including findings and tailored management recommendations, to assist in ongoing patient care.
When to Refer
Our clinic specializes in managing tinnitus and hyperacusis; however, certain cases require ENT involvement before tinnitus management. Please refer directly to an ENT if your patient experiences:
Single-sided tinnitus
Sudden-onset tinnitus
Tinnitus associated with vertigo or unexplained hearing loss
For other cases, referrals to Adelaide Tinnitus Clinic are suitable. Additionally, patients experiencing chronic tinnitus, noise exposure-related concerns, or difficulties with sound tolerance are excellent candidates for our services.
What to Include in a Referral
To optimize patient outcomes, please include:
Medical history
Current medications (as some medications may contribute to tinnitus)
Relevant details regarding auditory symptoms, duration, and associated factors

Medicare Rebates
Patients with a valid referral may be eligible for Medicare rebates on some of the diagnostic audiological assessments.
